What is a Penile Lengthening Surgery?
Penile lengthening surgery, also known as Ligament Lysis or Suspensory Ligament Release, is a highly specialized procedure aimed at increasing the visible length of the penis. This surgery focuses on the suspensory ligament which anchors the penis to the pubic bone. By carefully cutting or releasing this ligament the penis can hang lower giving the appearance of added length.
PROCEDURE:
Anaesthesia: The procedure is typically performed under local or general anaesthesia, depending on the patient’s condition and surgeon’s preference.
Incision Location: An incision is made at the base of the penis, just above the pubic bone, where the suspensory ligament attaches.
Ligament Release: The suspensory ligament, which connects the penis to the pubic bone, is carefully cut. This allows the penis to drop forward, increasing its apparent length.
Post-Procedure Considerations: After the ligament is released, the penis may temporarily appear longer as it is no longer held in a retracted position. However, the increase is mostly in terms of length that can be seen when the penis is flaccid. There may be a minimal gain in erect length, but the effect on erection size is typically subtle
